If Only Fellow Humans Could Realize How Many Life Lessons They Could Take From Animals
I was passing by. It wasn’t my neighborhood. Seeing that skinny dog Momma, it was a no-brainer to stop my car and evaluate the situation — preferably including the puppies.
Fortunately, I was carrying some food. I almost always do for critical situations like this one. When I was close enough, I figured out there was another adult female.
I looked for a clean enough place to serve the food. The bony dog started eating so fast that I felt concerned about the risk of choking.
The other dog was sitting nearby calmly. For a moment, I thought to myself, “At least, one of the two found some food on her own!”
It wasn’t until the breastfeeding mom finished eating that I realized how wrong I was… In reality, she was starving.
Nonetheless, she had been there before. She knows how draining surviving in the cruel streets — where they are tortured by sick souls more frequently than we would care to admit it — and having to feed puppies, in parallel, were.
It was her turn to show some respect, loyalty, and selflessness to her fellow fighter. The whole scene blew my mind. Naturally, I broke into tears.
If only humans could pay more attention to animals' behavior and grasp how much of a role model they are, they would feel ashamed of treating those magical creatures as inferior species.
Below is one of the seven puppies, a number that may explain the physical weakness of the mom, sadly enough:
