Shall We Talk Politics Without Politics?

My close circle knows how much I am apolitical. They have no clue about my reasons, though, since I am anything but interested in talking politics! Given the current circumstances in America where I have many friends, I thought the time has probably come to reveal the secret!
Let’s start from the very beginning, shall we? Why is there a need for politics at all? Bingo! Because countries need to be governed! But why do we have countries in the first place? “What a weird question, Myriam!”. This is the reaction I am expecting from many of you, dear readers! In the very beginning of humankind (the first version at least) existence on this beautiful planet, we call earth, all that mattered was to survive and exploit nature’s gifts! There is evidence those first humans are not our ancestors, which is undoubtedly revolutionizing Darwin’s theory. But, this is a story for another time if you don’t mind! Our ancestors evolved — according to this discovery backed by science — about 200000 years ago. Tribes existed way before our species. The archaic humans adopted the group configuration because it was easier to survive as a group when they were merely marginal creatures among many other animals and predators. For millions of years, their position in the food chain used to be in the middle. Humans jumped to the top with the rise of our ancestors!
Gradually, the tribes’ territories evolved into countries. Can you give a guess about what fueled the division of the planet at this point? As Yuval brilliantly stipulated it above, fear was the drive, like it always is whenever you witness some chaos! This enemy is the root cause of all tragedies of humankind’s history. Comparison, jealousy, lies, cruelty, hatred, corruption, discrimination, labeling, judging, stigmatizing, injustice all shapes, addictions, all chronic physical and mental health issues — either benign or harmful (Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Histrionic Personality Disorder, and Antisocial Personality Disorder), wars, global warming — you name it — are just symptoms! Why did the modern world “leaders” choose to keep and honor this territory/borders/country concept? Because most of them are fear-based, grandiose, entitled, delusional, and craving power. They go by the name of narcissists, and many of them are malignant. The “malignant narcissist” that we find at the end of the spectrum of NPD was described in the words of Psychologist Erich Fromm as: Extreme, exploitative selfishness, the most severe pathology and the root of the most vicious destructiveness and inhumanity, which he considered to be “the quintessence of evil” (1964, p. 37). Psychoanalyst Otto Kernberg (1970) followed up on this, viewing the malignant narcissist as a sadistic psychopath. Moreover, they got the sad reality that it is way easier to control people who are divided and driven by the fear of others, of anything different from the false identity they created for themselves as a construct of their life-time of conditioning. Coming back to politics, it goes without saying that I hate it because of all that I have been trying to explain above! I am not a patriotic person anymore despite being very grateful to this small and beautiful country in which I was born because it is nothing else but another creation of the whole fear-based process. I am currently identifying myself as a Universal citizen born Tunisian and, it is possible only because I came back to the source, the spirit, the original Center: the “Principles”. We were all granted this core part and gift among others: 1. The power of choice, and 2. The seeds of our four forms of intelligence / their manifestation:
I always feel happy when observing the enthusiasm of some young individuals advocating their patriotism and motivation to serve their country through politics. At the same time, I feel saddened by their unconsciousness. We don’t change a system until people change and migrate from fear to love! Last thoughts Politics are not the real problem. They are only a symptom of some real cancer eating the world from the inside: the invasive subconscious program manipulators have been successful for so long in writing and vehiculating subtly. When you treat the symptoms of the flu with some medicine (a quick-fix), your body might heal for a short period. Nonetheless, if the root causes making your immune system fragile in the first place are still there, chances are high you will contract the flu over and over again! The same logic applies to politics or any other concept biased by fear: humanity had the privilege to know some great politicians and principled leaders who did their best at their level to serve the world. But if this leader is surrounded by a corrupted team, sooner or later, the system would win the battle. Until the global awareness moves from the symptoms to the root cause, that each one of you, my dear kind-hearted readers, could do your part of the job — re-writing your program and setting the original being free, I will not be tempted to talk politics! |
